I'll openly admit I'm a Fast-Food Foodie. Anytime I see a commercial for a new product from the more popular chains like McDonalds, Burger Kings, Carls Jr., Jack-In-The-Box, Taco Bell, etc. I'm planning in my head the next time I can go there to experience their latest concoctions.
I'm a product of the 90s where getting Fast Food for your kids was still okay. We didn't have portion control. We didn't have apple slices with our Happy Meals.
Frankly I've never been too snooty to enjoy a cheeseburger from a Fast-Food restaurant.
With the debut of Wendy's Signature Sides, I had to try these new items. Why?! Mac 'n cheese!!! For one. I saw Mac 'n cheese was being offered and the first thing that came to mind was, "I have to put it on a Wendy's burger".
So tonight I decided to go to my local Wendy's and try these new signature sides out.
Here's what they look like in marketing shots
...and here's the commercial promoting these new items.
One of my favorite card games is now available for iOS devices! This is great since you can play with other people online instead of trying to get at least four to five people together. Imagine playing Red Dead Redepmtion in card game form; Bang is a game truly worth checking out!
Why isn't everything just digital? (If you weren't a product of the 80's you may not get the reference to Olivia Newton-John's 'Physical') We have the technology and almost everyone has an internet connection. Shouldn't we just do away with physical media? Who wants to go to an actual brick and mortar store to go purchase a disc that'll collect dust on a shelf for years and years? A lot of people download music, movies, books, and games already!
Does this viewpoint sound familiar. You may be a victim of a friend or loved one with digitalismitis. It's a growing condition that affects techies and geeks alike. It has even hit on some of the hipster crowd, though they will openly deny this fact as they have embraced their new vinyl collection consisting of classic albums such as Bon Iver's - "Bon Iver" or Gotye's "Making Mirrors" (sarcasm, I have it.). Digitalismitis is the belief or attitude that everything should be completely digital.
I do personally wish all things were made digital. We are definitely going towards this trend. We do live in a digital age. However, we aren't yet ready to full on digital and I don't know how long it will take for that to actually happen. Although physical CD sections in stores have definitely shrunk in size over the years, you can still pick them up and we've been using MP3 players for over a decade.
It kinda halts the shift from physical to digital when a lot of older cars don't have ipod docks or solely have cd players.
So WHY HAVEN'T WE JUST GOTTEN RID OF PHYSICAL MEDIA?! This is a good question and something I want to explain broken down to a few factors: Adoption (Collecting) and Time, Technology, Production Cost vs Consumer Cost.
If you like platforming games and love to solve puzzles or riddles, FEZ, developed by Polytron, is the game for you. This indie game has been in development for about 5 years and the wait was worth it.
The draw to FEZ is its feature to shift perspectives transitioning between a 2D-3D world, much like the game Echochrome.
Although FEZ has an great and visually appealing art style, images and screenshots alone don't do the game justice in selling how creative and visually appealing the game is which is why I've included a trailer below.
